TYPE E: Round pin plug and receptacle with male grounding pin+ TYPE F:"Schuko" plug Round pins with side ground contacts
This plug adapter changes the shape of an appliance's plug so that can plug into a "Type F" German CEE 7/4 "Schuko" style electrical socket or a "Type E" French CEE 7/5 socket. The receptacle end of the adapter can accept any standard household plug type from any country, except the "Type M" South African SABS1661 (Old British BS-546 "Large") plug. The plug end is a CEE 7/7 hybrid Schuko plug which is compatible with both the German and French variations of the Schuko socket. Its pins are 4.8mm in diameter, 19mm long and spaced 19mm apart. The plug has both side grounding clips and a receptacle for the male grounding pin found in French Schuko sockets.
The Type E electrical plug is identified by two round pins spaced 19mm apart, with a hole for the socket's male grounding pin. Type E outlets will also accept Type C plugs, and Type E plugs will also work in Type F outlets.
The Type E socket is standard in France, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, and other countries . It is incompatible with the Type F that is standard in Germany, the Netherlands, and other continental European countries. The incompatibility is due to the round male pin in the socket that earths appliances. The Type E socket's male pin is installed upwards in the socket, with the live connection the left and neutral connection the right.
The Type F plug and outlet is much like the Type E, except it has two earth clips on the side rather than a female earth contact. It is commonly known as a “Schuko” plug, from the invented German word “Schukostecker” which means “protective contact plug.
The "Schuko" plug and receptacle with side grounding contacts has a connection system which is symmetrical, allowing the live and neutral to be reversed. Type F receptacles will also accept Type C and Type E plugs.
How it's used:
Attach a plug adapter to the power cord of any electrical appliance which is already compatible with the voltage being supplied by the socket. The adapter changes the shape and configuration of the electrical contacts, allowing you to plug into a different kind of socket.
Or, if you prefer to think of it this way, plug the adapter into an electrical socket to enable the socket to accept almost any worldwide household plug (as long as the appliance is already compatible with the voltage being supplied by the socket.) Adapters aren't built for permanent installation though, and it's not a good idea to leave the adapter plugged into the socket indefinitely. They can remain plugged in for long periods of time, but they're not intended to be permanently installed.
Caution:
- It does not perform voltage step-up or step-down conversion between 125V and 250V;
- When use, please check and ensure your electronics apparatus can work with the local voltage;
- You may use this product when the indicatore of the common charger shows it adapts 100V-240V;
- For your children safety, please keep this product properly when it is not in use.
